Privacy

katlab.cv is a static website with no backend, no database, and no user accounts. The only personal data the product handles is the data you type into the editor — and that never leaves your browser unless you download a JSON file, copy a share link, or print a PDF.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is no email, password, name, or profile we could collect.
  • No cookies. The site sets no cookies of any kind. Reload the tab and there is no session to restore.
  • No localStorage autosave. Your draft is held in memory only. Close the tab without downloading and the document is gone.
  • No cloud storage. There are no servers running our code. The page is a static file served from Cloudflare Pages.
  • No third-party trackers. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no fingerprinting libraries, no advertising networks.

What we do count

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly by design — it uses no cookies and no fingerprinting. Cloudflare aggregates anonymous metrics such as page views, country-level region, and browser type so that we know how many people are using the site.

We also count anonymous feature events so we know which features matter — examples are "a Modern template was downloaded" or "the example was loaded". These events contain only template names, document type, and palette/font identifiers. They never contain your document content, your name, your email, or anything that could identify you. We use this data to decide which templates to keep, which to retire, and where to spend our time.

What you choose to send

Three actions cause data to leave your browser, and only when you take them:

  • Backup .json downloads your document as a file to your computer. The file goes from your browser to your disk — it does not travel through our servers.
  • Download PDF generates a PDF in your browser and saves it to your computer.
  • Share link encodes your document into the URL fragment (after the #). The fragment is never sent to our server because URL fragments are not transmitted in HTTP requests by design. However, anyone you send that link to can read the encoded document.

Cloudflare logs

Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may keep brief technical logs (timestamps, IP addresses, request paths) for security and abuse prevention. We do not access or join this data with anything else. See Cloudflare's privacy documentation for retention details.

Children

The site is suitable for any age and we collect no personal data, so it is safe for children. Adults preparing CVs for minors should still review what they enter before sharing.

Changes

If we change what we count or how we count it, we will update this page and note the change. Last updated 2026-05-08.
